Mrs. Sarah Silveira

Hi my name is Sarah Silveira and I am the new 4th grade teacher! I am very excited to be here at Sacred Heart School, and I am extremely excited to meet all the students as well as the members of this community.

I am a graduate from Sacred Heart School. I attended this school from preschool all the way through 8th grade. Once I graduated from 8th grade I went to Turlock High School. I was very involved in 4-H, FFA, soccer, and volleyball. After high school I transferred to Modesto Junior College and graduated with my GE. I then transferred to California State University Stanislaus and graduated with a BA in Liberal Studies with a concentration in Special Education. I then graduated with my teaching credential from there as well.

This is my second year of teaching. I taught 3rd grade last year at Merquin Elementary in Stevenson. Sacred Heart School is home for me and that is why I wanted to be a teacher here. I love the community and all the support that is given within this wonderful growing community.

In 4th grade we will be progressing in faith, academics, friendships, and responsibilities. We will be learning how to write in cursive, do research projects, and learn about our beautiful state of California. We will also be doing store in our class. Students will learn how to count and be responsible with their money. They will learn about selling and buying merchandise as well as working as a community. We will also be learning about the missions. The students will get to build a mission after learning about them. We will also take a field trip to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, and we will drive by Mission San Juan Bautista.

Responsibility and respect is key in my classroom. I expect all my students to be responsible for their work as well as their actions. I also expect for my students to respect their classmates, teachers, and themselves. I always want to make learning fun and if my students are responsible and respectful then we will have a fun learning environment.

Important Dates: Our one major field trip that we will have this year will be going to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. I will be planning to do this field trip in either March or April. I will announce a date as soon as possible. Our class will be doing Friday morning mass on October 9th, November 6th, February 19th, and May 13th. We will also be doing Stations of the Cross on March 18th which will be in the afternoon.
If we work hard, be responsible, and respectful then 4th grade will be an amazing year for your children.

I am extremely excited to be apart of this community once again, and I look forward to meeting all the members of this growing wonderful community. Thank you for your time in reading this page and God Bless!
