Hello Everyone my name is Miriam Rabago. It is truly an honor to be part of such a great school here in Sacred Heart School, where I have the freedom to share with my students about the unconditional love that God has for us.
I truly believe that “If we don’t teach our children to love Christ, the world will teach them not to” (unknown) And I strongly feel that as Catholics it is our responsibility to evangelize especially our future generations.
I remember like it was yesterday walking thru these hallways when I would have catechism and helping my mother with her catechism class as well. Little did I know that God had a plan for me here many years later.
This will be my first year teaching and I am truly looking forward for what God has planned for me this year. I am recent graduate from CSU Stanislaus. I am truly passionate in embracing diversity and teaching our children about tolerance and respect. I truly believe that education is the most powerful tool to change our world and that is exactly what I want to do. I feel as an educator you always have to further your education, there always new advancements in the field of education and I want to offer nothing but the best for these children.
I was borned in Jalisco, Mexico and migrated at the age of two with both my parents. My mother left her teaching job in Mexico to give me a better life here in this country. And I am forever grateful her for that and many other sacrifices both parents have done for me to be where I am today. My mother has been a spanish catechism teacher here in Sacred Heart for over 15 years and it gives me great joy to actually have my own classroom now and to walk in these hallways as the new member of this wonderful community.
Both of my parents have been active members in this community for many years and I hope to follow their footsteps. I am the oldest of three children. My family has truly been a blessing and thank god every day to have them by my side. They have been the most supporting family someone can ever ask for and without them I wouldn’t be where I am today. I am truly blessed to be born in a catholic family.
My parents have taught me that being catholic is more than just going to mass every sunday. Being catholic is about serving and loving our brothers and sisters no matter how different they may be from us and but never forgetting to always guide them to God by leading as an example.
Another special gift that God gave me is my fiancé. I am forever grateful to have him in my life and I thank God everyday for him. He has been there for me thru the bad and the good times in my life. Aaron and I actually met in this parish youth group basement, we both were core leaders. His passion to help the youth fall in love with God and helping them grow in their faith was contagious. I would never in a million years think that I would meet my prince charming here, but it did happen. These past six years together have been a true blessing. And in less than a year we will be getting married in this parish. I am looking forward in making many more special memories in this parish with all of you and new friends as well.
